§ 6.08.1. School budget hearings.

  • The school board shall, prior to the time work has begun on the school budget, hold a public informational hearing to receive suggestions from the public concerning the school budget. The school board shall also hold a public hearing on its proposed budget prior to submitting it to the city manager. The school board shall cause a notice of the time and place of each public hearing to be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the city at least seven days prior to the hearing. The school board shall also cause copies of the proposed budget to be available to the public at least seven days prior to the public hearing on the proposed budget. The school board may submit to the city manager as its proposed budget the same proposed budget considered at the public hearing or it may, subsequent to said public hearing, submit a revised proposed budget.
