§ 5-2-105. Restrictions on size and extension of openings.

  • No opening or excavation in any street shall extend beyond the center line of the street before being backfilled and the surface of the street temporarily restored. On arterial streets or major thoroughfares, no excavation shall extend across more than one traffic lane unless, in the opinion of the director of transportation and environmental services, such excavation will not unduly impede traffic. No opening shall be any larger in size than specified by the permit provided for in section 5-2-141. (Code 1963, Sec. 33-63)
