§ 1-1-7. General penalty—continuing violation.

  • Wherever any provision of this code or of any ordinance of the city prohibits an act or declares an act to be unlawful or a misdemeanor, or requires the doing of an act, or declares the failure to do an act to be unlawful or a misdemeanor, and provides no specific penalty for the violation of its terms, the violation shall be punished by a fine not exceeding $2,500 or by imprisonment not exceeding 12 months, or both. Unless otherwise provided, each day that such violation continues shall constitute a separate violation or offense. (Code 1963, Sec. 13-1; Ord. No. 2816, 6/28/83, Sec. 1; Ord.
