§ 5-2-116. Barriers, warning lights, etc., to be provided; installation by city on failure of permittee; removal, etc., prohibited.

  • (a)

    Every permittee shall place around the project as many barriers, barricades, lights, warning flags and signs as shall be determined by the director of transportation and environmental services to be necessary for the protection of the public. Additional safety requirements may be prescribed by the director of transportation and environmental services.

    (b)

    Whenever any person fails to provide or maintain the safety devices required by the director of transportation and environmental services, such devices shall be installed and maintained by the city. The amount of the cost incurred shall be paid by the permittee or deducted from his deposit.

    (c)

    No person shall willfully move, remove, injure, destroy or extinguish any barrier, warning light, sign or notice erected, placed or posted in accordance with this section. (Code 1963, Sec. 33-74)
